BR1M 3.0 Credited Into Recipients' Accounts On Feb 22 - Najib

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- The 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) 3.0 will be credited directly into the bank accounts of recipients on Feb 22, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

In his Facebook site today, Najib said for applicants who did not have a bank account or did not update their banking details, BR1M payment would be made in stages from Feb 23.

Registration of new BR1M applicants closed on Jan 31 while existing recipients did not need to furnish new applications and they merely need to update their personal details such as address, family member information and bank accounts.

When tabling the 2014 Budget last October, Najib announced households with monthly income of RM3,000 and below were eligible to receive BR1M of RM650 while unmarried individuals earning not more than RM2,000 would receive aid amounting to RM300.

A total of RM4.6 billion was allocated by the government to carry out the distribution of the assistance which would benefit 7.9 million Malaysians.
